Enlarging and Enhancing Heirloom Photos
The original image was a small print, roughly 1” wide by 1.5” tall. The client wished to enlarge the image to at least 8” wide by 10” tall. While most editing tools will allow for such enlargements, it is rare to be able to recover the detail found in the original image. Enlarging typically degrades an image. In the examples below, the original image on the left was enlarged to roughly 8” x 10” in the middle view. The image on the right is the result of professional editing and enhancement to emulate the original photograph at a significantly larger scale.
