Hoodoo Poster
See assessments and solutions below.
Assessments:
The mounting of the poster was done with spray glue, which has left some damage to the poster.
With no glass to protect the poster it will remain vulnerable to damage.
One of the longer sides of the original frame has a broken section.
The original frame has no rabbet to hold the artwork to the frame properly.
The frame sections are not glued or adequately fastened together.
Solutions:
We did duplicate the original poster so it could be reprinted on canvas which would protect against damage.
Either original or duplicate should be remounted properly to new foam core.
With no glass the canvas duplicate would be less vulnerable to surface damage.
A rabbet could be added to hold the art properly in the frame.
The broken section of the frame can be stained to blend with the original finish and put at the top of the frame assembly..
The frame sections can be glued and joined properly.
